Tire Size Selection… 1/32 Scale

Trying to decide which tire is right for your slot car? Urethane tires fit practically everything! Slot car tires made from urethane possess incredible stretching properties, and as such fewer tire sizes need to be produced. A urethane tire with a 13mm hub opening will stretch over a 20mm hub and still have over 80% of it's original side wall height. Often it fits tight enough that it needs no gluing. The single most important dimension is the width of the raised rib in the center of the hub. The 4 most common rib widths are 2mm, 5mm, 6mm, and 7mm. Listed below are most common tires that will fit the majority of applications as I will describe them in auctions. Sizes will be described by TIRE DIAMETER x TREAD WIDTH x CENTER RIB in mm's.

Once installed all you need to do is sand the tire lightly to true it up and remove any convex or concave centers and away you go……… I also suggest that you paint the front tire treads with clear nail hardner polish. If you wish to glue the tire on, use the same clear nail polish, just clean the tire with acetone, lightly sand the bead on the hub, paint a generous layer on the inside bead of the hub, paint the outside bead of the tire, and mount the tire, allow one hour to dry, sand them true, and away you go!

Car brands that my tires fit include such notables as Scalextric, Carrera, Fly,, Spirit, Sloter, Vanquish MG, MRRC, SCX, Ninco,

Tire Size Selection… 1/24 Scale

Choosing a tire for your 1/24 scale RTR is much easier because there are fewer models available and thusly will be listed and described at auction. Occasionally I will find a tire that has cross-applications and will offer when produced. I currently make tires for AUTOart, Carrera, BRM, TSRF,
