Machete's in great shape, it was shipped quickly/securely but upon further inspection and research, the included sheath appears to be a reproduction/fake. Contacted seller to verify the sheath's authenticity as US military issue but only answer I got was to send it back for a full refund if I don't like it. Disappointing to get a fake and such a lack of customer service from a seller with such positive feedback. I won't buy from here again as I don't have time/energy to deal with fakes/repros.

Sheath is correct and authentic for a Ontario Knife machete.
We would suggest you invest in a good book on the subject
and not rely on foreign websites.......

Sheath is not genuine US surplus/made by OKC. After more research, its clear the sheath is a reproduction/fake produced by Rothco (a well known supplier of counterfeit military items which they attempt to pass off as genuine to unsuspecting buyers). The reproduction item is called "Rothco GI Type Plastic Machete Sheath Cover ", it's currently available on Amazon with this exact marking (1991 Machete). All genuine US surplus machete sheaths/scabbards from 1991 are marked "U.S. 1991 Stemaco".
